| Union Family Picnic |
Annual Local 801 Family Picnic. The date is Saturday September 27th, 2025 from 12:00pm-5:00pm at Anthony’s lake place.
All the usual menu items including chicken, ribs, clams ,Water, Beer & Wine. Barts band “Junk” will be entertaining us again and we’ll have a bounce house and ice cream truck as well.

| 1st Annual Gary Arconti Memorial Golf Outing |
The Danbury Fire Department, IAFF Local 801, is proud to announce the 1st Annual Gary Arconti Memorial Golf Outing to Benefit the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. The outing will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Richter Park Golf Course in Danbury, CT. This is a great opportunity to play one of the nicest public golf courses in Connecticut.

The City of Danbury Firefighter's Union Local 801 is again collecting canned and non-perishable foods for the annual food drive to benefit the Salvation Army's holiday basket program and food pantry.
Donations may be dropped off at the following DFD career stations:

| Captain Promotion |
Congratulations to the DFD's newest captain Bart McCleary - who was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain in a swearing-in ceremony held on Monday January 8, 2017 at City Hall. Captain McCleary has served the City Fire Department and been an active member of Local 801 since July 1987. Captain McCleary will move from C Group to the truck company on D Group.

| Captain Promotion |
Congratulations go out to the DFD's newest Captain - Jaime Schiller. Captain Schiller was sworn in at a City Hall ceremony on November 3, 2016. Captain Schiller will transfer from D Group and now serve as C Group's captain.

| LT Promotion |
Congratulations go to out to the DFD's newest Lieutenant Doug Zaniewski, who was promoted in a ceremony at City Hall on September 12, 2016. LT Zaniewski will now serve on Engine 22 on B Group.
