LEGISLATIVE ALERT

 

 

The Labor and Public Employees Committee, on February 23, 2006, sent (JF) our following bill to the Public Safety and Security Committee.

 

 

S.B. No. 27 (RAISED) LABOR AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES. 'AN ACT CONCERNING WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR HYPERTENSION AND HEART DISEASE FOR FIREFIGHTERS', to create a presumption that injuries occurring from hypertension or heart disease while an on-duty municipal firefighter, who began employment on or after July 1, 1996, is responding to an emergency occurred in the line of duty and within the scope of the firefighter's employment.
