Roll Call
Chairman Michael Finn called the meeting to order. In attendance were Commissioner Geraldine George, Chief Examiner John Whitcomb, 2 Firefighters, James Beers and Christopher Ryan, Tax Assessor employee, Dot Gulya-Stasny, and Tax Collector employee Jackie Dupont.
Minutes of July 12, 2006 Meeting
Commissioner George made a motion to accept the previous meeting minutes. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Appeal Superintendent of Apparatus
Appellants James Beers and Christopher Ryan presented their cases to the Commission.
Chairman Finn informed the appellants that a decision would be mailed indicating the Commission’s decision.
Coordinator of Library Automation
Commissioner George made a motion to accept the appellant’s application. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Review Qualifications for Executive Secretary Applicants
Commissioner George made a motion to reject the following applications due to lack of qualification and experience; Applications: 508, 513, 516, 517, 518, 527, 533, 539, 553, and 567. All others have been accepted. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Review Qualifications for Secretary Promotion Applicants
Commissioner George made a motion to accept all 4 applicants. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Review Qualifications for Airport Equipment Operator Promotion Applicants
Commissioner George made a motion to accept the 2 applicants. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Review Applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator
Commissioner George made a motion to reject the following application due to lack of experience and qualification, #127. A correspondence is to be sent to those applicants that didn’t attach a copy of a diploma or transcript as required. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Candidates providing required documentation may continue forward.
Approve use of Existing List: Assistant City Engineer
Commissioner George made a motion to approve the use of the Assistant City Engineer list to fill the vacancy of Senior Engineer. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Extend Customer Service Representative List
Commissioner George made a motion to extend the list for another year. Chairman Finn seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Certify Tax Collector List
Commissioner George made a motion to certify the list and be forwarded to the Mayor. Chairman Finn seconds the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Certify Public Safety PC/LAN Technician List
Commissioner George made a motion to certify the list and be forwarded to the Mayor. Chairman Finn seconds the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
