To All,With the changing of the guard in certain positions within the City the Mayor has authorized me to head up the completion of the fire school. To that end the Public Works department has been working over the last few days on preparing the grounds for safer use. The following is noted for your additional information and input.
- Heat resistant tiles are now in place. They will need to have a couple of "break-in" burns. There is then an adjustment to hardware to be made to them.
- A portion of the side B fence is being removed to provide replacement for the area lost for the "Bill Buckley" memorial road straightening project.
- Road grindings and leveling of the grounds is proceeding and will be complete this week.
- The new fence will include a wider, better positioned truck entrance on side A and a pedestrian walk-thru and parking area on side B.
- We will need assistance in the removal of the trailer which was stored by Engineering on our property. Ideas are welcomed.
- It is still the goal to ultimately remove both trailers and have a classroom shower facility in place.
- Once the grindings are in place we can set the mock-ups that several individuals have been working on.
Thank you for your participation and input.Peter J. Siecienski Fire Chief/EMD 19 New Street Danbury, Connecticut 06810 203-796-1555 203-796-1533 Fax
