LEGISLATIVE NOTICE - Thursday, April 20, 2006
The Appropriations Committee has once again let one of our bills die. The following bill was on the agenda but not called for a vote before the deadline which killed the bill. The Republican members of the Committee have been filibustering this committee and many bills died without being voted on.
S.B. No. 27 (RAISED) LABOR AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES. 'AN ACT CONCERNING WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR HYPERTENSION AND HEART DISEASE FOR FIREFIGHTERS', to create a presumption that injuries occurring from hypertension or heart disease while an on-duty municipal firefighter, who began employment on or after July 1, 1996, is responding to an emergency occurred in the line of duty and within the scope of the firefighter's employment.
